Nigeria’s Super Eagles to play Swaziland on Friday
Hopefully, by God’s grace we will try our best. But the boys are in good spirit so I am optimistic,’ Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has disclosed, as his team faces a less rated Swaziland side on Friday, November 13, 2015.
With Nigeria still in high spirits following the Golden Eaglets’ 5th World Cup win last Sunday, the senior national side will be expected to draw inspiration from the young lads as they face the East Africans. The bout, a second round of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier, will come up at the Somholo National Stadium in Lobamba, Swaziland while the 2nd leg comes up on Tuesday, November 17 in Port Harcourt.
Nigerian star, who plies his trade for American side, Seattle Sounders, Obafemi Martins, will be making a return to the team alongside Mikel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Odion Ighalo, team captain Ahmed Musa and others.
This is the first time both teams are meeting. The Super Eagles is currently ranked 59th in the world by FIFA, while Swaziland sits in the 130th spot. The match comes up 7pm Nigerian time.
Columbia Pictures shows Will Smith in a scene from the film Concussion
This image released by Columbia Pictures shows Will Smith in a scene from the film, "Concussion." Smith plays Dr. B
LOS ANGELES (AP) — "Concussion" delivers a hard hit to the NFL as it deals with data linking repeated blows to the heads of its players to dementia and a host of other problems.
The league's rocky dealings with Dr. Bennet Omalu, who identified a degenerative disease in football players known as CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy, are the focus of the movie's second hour.
Starring Will Smith and Alec Baldwin, "Concussion" had its premiere Tuesday night at AFI Fest in Hollywood. Among the audience at the TCL Chinese Theatre was the wife of Justin Strzelczyk, a Steelers offensive lineman killed in a car crash, and the wife and daughter of Hall of Fame linebacker Junior Seau, who fatally shot himself. Strzelczyk was later found to have brain damage, while Seau had CTE.
Smith plays Omalu, a Nigerian-born forensic pathologist in Pittsburgh who knows nothing about football when he performs the autopsy on former Steelers center Mike Webster. Omalu discovers CTE in Webster's brain, setting him on a journey that exposes the concussion crisis.
Omalu quickly finds the NFL demanding he retract his CTE findings while accusing him of fraud. The doctor is the target of threatening phone calls and his wife is followed while driving alone.
The movie names real people and uses footage from real NFL games showing the kind of blows to the head that can injure and permanently damage players.
Smith's character seeks a meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell (played by Luke Wilson), who calls for a concussion summit where Omalu isn't allowed in the room. Instead, Baldwin's character, former Steelers physician Dr. Julian Bailes, presents Omalu's findings.
Bailes tells Omalu the summit was staged so the NFL can say it listened.
"The league has kept everyone in the dark," says Bailes, who explains he was chosen to speak because he was "one of the league's own."
At league offices in New York, grim-faced executives are informed of newspaper stories about CTE that are on the front page, not relegated to the sports or science sections.
Former NFL safety Dave Duerson, who worked for the league, is shown rejecting desperate pleas for help from Andre Waters, a hard-hitting safety who said his mind wasn't right. Both Duerson and Waters died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Duerson was found to have evidence of CTE, while Waters had brain damage.
The movie ends with news of Seau's death followed by statistics of the toll CTE has taken on NFL players and the concussion lawsuit filed by dozens of retired players.
Director Peter Landesman again denied a recent New York Times report that the movie was altered to placate the NFL.
"It's almost laughable," he said on the red carpet Tuesday night. "Anybody who sees this movie knows this movie is a shot between the eyes of the NFL. Not because we're going after the NFL. Just because the truth is our defense you know and it's a powerful movie about human beings. It's not a hit piece about corporate America."
The movie reveals nothing new about the long-term implications of repeated blows to the head. Its focus is on Omalu's struggle to tell the truth and the tragic deaths of men who played the billion-dollar sport that is America's favorite game.
"The only criticism we've received is from people who haven't seen the movie," Landesman said during a post-screening Q & A. "None of us wanted the movie to be confrontational or judgmental. Everyone has a point of view. I love football. We're not out to wag our finger and say don't do it."
The movie opens Dec. 25.
High court appeal of immigration case comes mid campaign
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration said Tuesday it will ask the Supreme Court to save its plans to shield from deportation millions of immigrants living in the country illegally. The appeal advances a legal confrontation with 26 states during a presidential race already roiled by disputes over U.S. immigration policy.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals late Monday effectively blocked President Barack Obama's plan to protect as many as 5 million immigrants, primarily the immigrant parents of U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents. It upheld a Texas-based federal judge's earlier injunction.
The ruling leaves in limbo the future of the program, called the Deferred Action for Parents and Americans, and promises by Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton to go further than Obama to protect large groups of immigrants from deportation.
Clinton promised in May to expand Obama's executive actions if Congress does not overhaul U.S. immigration laws. In October she also pledged to be "less harsh and aggressive" than Obama in enforcing immigration laws.
Clinton said Tuesday she hopes the case gets a quick and fair hearing "so that the millions who are affected can stop living in fear of their families being broken apart."
The future of the estimated 11 million immigrants living in the country illegally has been debated by Republican and Democratic presidential candidates. Earlier this month Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said if elected he would eventually end Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which protects from deportation immigrants brought to the country illegally as children.
DACA, as the program is known, was seen as an administrative answer to the DREAM Act, legislation once supported by Rubio that would provide legal status to those young immigrants. To date, more than 720,000 young immigrants have been granted permission to live and work legally in the United States. That program is not affected by the appeals court ruling.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Tuesday the case was ultimately about the administration's authority to decide how to use its limited resources in immigration enforcement.
"We obviously continue to believe strongly in the legal power of the arguments that we have been making for nearly a year ... about the importance of giving our law enforcement officials the discretion to implement our immigration laws in a way that focuses on those who pose a genuine threat to our national security or to our communities," Earnest said.
Monday's 70-page ruling rejected administration arguments that the district court had abused its discretion with a nationwide order and that the states lacked standing to challenge Obama's executive orders.
It acknowledged that an adverse ruling would discourage potential beneficiaries of DAPA from cooperating with law enforcement authorities or paying taxes. "But those are burdens that Congress knowingly created, and it is not our place to second-guess those decisions," U.S. Circuit Judge Jerry Smith wrote for the majority. Smith was appointed to the court by Republican President Ronald Reagan.
In a 53-page dissent, Circuit Judge Carolyn Dineen King said the administration was within the law. She cast the decision to defer action on some deportations as "quintessential exercises of prosecutorial discretion" and noted that the Homeland Security Department has limited resources.
"Although there are approximately 11.3 million removable aliens in this country today, for the last several years Congress has provided the Department of Homeland Security with only enough resources to remove approximately 400,000 of those aliens per year," wrote King, who was appointed by Democratic President Jimmy Carter.
It's unclear when the Justice Department will file its appeal or whether the high court would take up the case, but the administration may be running out of time to get a final decision before Obama leaves office in early 2017.
While the appeal moves forward, not much will change for the millions of immigrants Obama sought to help without action from Congress.
When Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson announced the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans program last year, they also rolled out a new set of priorities for immigration enforcement that focused on criminals, those who pose a threat to national security or public safety and recent border-crossers.
The result of that renewed focus means the average immigrant whose only offense is living in the country illegally isn't likely to face deportation.
During the last budget year, which ended in September, the administration removed about 231,000 immigrants living in the country illegally, according to internal government documents obtained by The Associated Press.
It was the fewest number of deportations since 2006 and a 42 percent drop since a record high of more than 409,000 in 2012.

A girl of five years old accuse her Father friends of rape
A five-year-old girl has accused five of her father’s colleagues of rape. The victim, it was learnt, was allegedly raped alongside her three-year-old sister.
According to PUNCH Metro, the victims and their father, Ayodele Ekundayo, who is a driver at a cement factory, lived in the same compound with the suspects who all work in the same company.
It was learnt that the company, which is located in the Fagba area of Lagos State, provided accommodation for its employees. It was learnt that the suspects – John Mahansi, Taiye Ojo, aka Ejima, Deji Adenekan, aka Orobo and Peter Irobo, aka Apako, are between the ages of 24 and 33.
Speaking at the Lagos headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the father of the victims said he was disappointed when he found out that his colleagues raped his daughters. He said since he had no wife, he usually left the little girls in the care of his colleagues.
Ekundayo said he discovered the alleged rape when his daughters started complaining about pains in their private parts. He said:
“Five days ago (on Thursday), my younger daughter ran to me and was shouting ‘pepper, pepper’ pointing to her private parts. She took off her pants and cried when I did not answer her. When I asked her who put pepper in it, she said it was Apako. The suspects, who were paraded by the NSCDC, however, denied the allegations. The five-year-old victim, however, told PUNCH Metro that she was indeed raped by the suspects.
“I called her elder sister and she confessed to me and narrated all that happened. She said they (the suspects) threatened to kill them if they told me what was going on.
“Others did not talk when I approached them but Apako was shouting and threatening me when I challenged him. I am surprised they could do such a thing to my daughters. Those children are precious to me.
“At times, I take them with me to where we offload bags of cement when there is nobody to look after them. My older daughter told me that two drivers, Ejima and Orobo, used to touch her private parts while I was busy at work. I left my daughters with the security guards, Mahansi and Segun, whenever I was on night duty. I didn’t know that they were also defiling my daughters.”
The victim, who gave graphic details of her encounter, said one of the suspects instructed her to put his private parts in her mouth.
She said,
“Yes. Apako, John, Segun, Orobo and Ejima raped me. They put their ‘willy’ in my ‘bum-bum’ two times. They kissed me. It was only Apako that put his ‘willy’ in my sister’s ‘bum-bum.’”A resident of Fagba, identified only as Dr. Solanke, was said to have informed a rights group, Ihuoma Girls Care and Support Initiative, about the incident and it later reported at the NSCDC command, leading to the suspects’ arrest on Monday.

Micheal Jackson’s Ghost Impregnated Me – Woman Sues Late Popstar’s Estate
A woman claims that her mixed race baby was fathered by Michael Jackson’s ghost and is now suing the legendary popstar’s estate for child support.
According to a strange report, a woman identified as Kiera Johnson, has claimed her mixed race baby was fathered by late legendary popstar, Michael Jackson’s ghost and is now suing his estate for child support.
She revealed that she was watching the 2-hour Michael Jackson 30 Year Anniversary Special on DVD, and when she got to MJ’s performance of ‘Thriller’, her eyes grew heavy and she found herself dozing off. It was at this point that things got a little strange.
The 32-year-old said: “All of a sudden, I was awakened by a hand caressing my face. But I was home alone; my husband was at work. The next thing you know, I’m having this erotic encounter with Michael Jackson.
But it wasn’t the white Michael Jackson, he was black, and dressed like he was straight out of the Thriller video. I told him to stop, but he would not listen.”
Kiera dismissed the encounter with Michael Jackson as nothing more than a strange dream. However, on 25th September 2015, she and her husband also white, welcomed their third child together.
“Everything was going well with the birth but then when I saw my son, and he was black, I said ‘What the hell is this!’ I was in absolute shock. That’s when Kiera told me about her terrifying dream.
“I think it’s wrong what happened and that’s why we are suing Michael Jackson’s estate. We just want a decent amount of child support to help raise his son,” said her husband Ken.
Kiera insists she has never cheated on her husband Ken with anybody of any race. And Ken, who dubs Kiera as his ‘queen’, says he trusts and believes her completely.
The Johnsons say they are willing to accept an out-of-court negotiation and are giving the Jackson family until 1st January 2016 to respond.
The Jackson family have yet to respond publicly to the allegations.
